I am apart of a group show in Gallery 148 at MCAD. The title of the show is I Went to Art School and All I Got was a Pandemic - MFA Students Respond to Global Pandemic. It was curated by Trina Fernandez and runs from February 3rd - 28th.
Lukas Carlson and my work is up from February 3rd - 14th. Here's a little description of our interpretation of going to school during a global pandemic:
"Jordyn and Lukas’s work examines the solitude that they faced during the pandemic. Lukas’s work uses abstraction to embody physical gestures. He focuses on our isolated form and through painting and drawing, attempts to illustrate the human form unfiltered by social norms. Jordyn’s work reveals her mental state while being isolated. Jordyn expresses the angry, confused, and fragile emotions she encountered in lockdown. Jordyn and Lukas reflected upon their time in isolation in different ways. But despite the difference in their process, the goal of Jordyn and Lukas’s work is to visualize an experience that is otherwise left behind; solitude."
