Exciting Spring mural to come!!

I am so excited to announce that I will be painting a 35' by 85' mural in Faribault, MN.  I saw the RFP in October and finally submitted my proposal in mid-December. I did a good 4-5 designs before landing on this one.  Art is a visual medium so for most seeing it is pretty important.  Recently though, I have thought about what ways someone can experience art without physically seeing it.  This idea led to my design which I will breakdown the ideation below:
  • LOVE: This past year has been tough on everyone for all sorts of reasons and I wanted to spread love in this mural. Love for ourselves, our families, friends, strangers etc.
  • FLOWERS:  I always love flowers for their array of color and life they bring to and wall. They represent the vibrant and colorful town that is Faribault!
  • ALS ALPHABET: I wanted to bring awareness to American Sign Language. I paired the hands with the corresponding letter so those that aren't familiar with ALS can be introduced to it. Below the letters on each had will be the a plaque with the corresponding braille letter.  I want those who can't physically see it to be able to interact with the mural.
  • AUDIO: Upon completion the mural will have an audio description so that those who cannot physically see the mural can have it described in great detail.
